GOVERNMENT OPEN TO REVIEWING MĀORI WARD LAWThe government is refusing to condemn as racist the law that allows Māori wards to be contested with referendums. Local Government Minister Nanaia Mahuta repeatedly refused to say if she thought the law was racist but admits it is inconsistent and wants the sector to write to her. "There are different standards - it is evident - and that is a view that has been strongly reflected to me. "I believe that if we want to ensure better decision making then the diversity of the community needs to be represented at the decision making table," she said. However, the Green co-leader James Shaw said the law discriminates against Māori. "We want to get rid of the discrimination that says that if you want to set up a Māori ward it requires a referendum but if you want to set up a general ward you don't need a referendum - we believe that is discriminatory and you should remove the distinction." But the New Zealand First leader Winston Peters said a law that allows people to have a democratic say cannot be racist.... www.radionz.co.nz/news/top/351004/government-open-to-reviewing-maori-ward-law

These cretins think maori are the only minority in NZ. What about Chinese? Indians? Peruvians? Welsh? Dutch? South Africans? Algerians? Where's their wards? They are now minority Kiwis as well and despite the hardships many have endures, most do reasonably well here because they have a work ethic. Meanwhile the griever maori sit back dreaming of ways to get something for free.

Off topic I know, but did anyone see those Labour hypocrites refusing to shake hands with an Iranian trade delegation because the Iranians wouldn't shake hands with their female Labour colleagues due to their culture. This is the same Labour that thinks we should follow the maori 'culture' where women are regarded as baby producers with little rights...but of course the great history revisionist rewrite is likely working on that to give us the "maori world view" where women will soon be regarded as equal.
And speaking of "culture" maybe they should look at stopping this ridiculous and embarrassing maori "welcome" that every foreign government official endures at the airport where a part maori blubberpuss does some BS dance with his tongue hanging out. Maybe the Iranians thought that was offensive, but hey it's not about them is it....the only culture that matters is the maori culture. It is so superior they force it on everybody.
