“EQUITY” WAITANGI TRIBUNAL STYLE'S
Firstly, when you are in a conversation with someone and they mention the word “equity” you know you are dealing with someone from the left. Because to strive for equality means to aim for equality of opportunity. However, to strive for equity means to aim for equality of outcome, so regardless of input outcomes are equal. This is obviously no way to run a country unless your name is Stalin and you want to kill 20 million people.
The dictionary states that “equity” means the quality of being fair” and also “the quality of being fair and reasonable in a way that gives equal treatment to everyone”
Considering the dictionary is usually a fairly accurate place to establish what words mean and that it is the Waitangi Tribunals role to determine whether any Crown act or omission was or is inconsistent with the principles of the Treaty and one of the invented principles is “equity” it would be pertinent to understated how the Tribunal define “equity”.
Here is how the Waitangi Tribunal define the Treaty ‘principle’ of equity;
Equity
“The obligations arising from kawanatanga, partnership, reciprocity, and active protection required the Crown to act fairly to both settlers and Māori – the interests of settlers could not be prioritised to the disadvantage of Māori. Where Māori have been disadvantaged, the principle of equity – in conjunction with the principles of active protection and redress – requires that active measures be taken to restore the balance.”
How can it be that the Tribunal state that the Crown have to act fairly to BOTH settlers and natives in one breath but active protection and redress ONLY applies to Maori.
Are they having a laugh!!
We need to put a stop to this BS before it’s too late.
