POLITICAL ROUNDUP: NZ'S CHANGING RACE RELATIONSThere has been a striking mood of positivity and optimism in the commentary about Waitangi Day, and race relations in general, this year. It's as if we have turned a corner as a nation. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern epitomised this in her prayer yesterday in which she said God "made us of one blood, now make us of one people". Of course, the question is whether the feel-good mood at Waitangi translates into meaningful change for Māori, who remain severely disadvantaged compared to Pākehā in almost every indicator of well-being..... www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12201732

"severely disadvantaged" ? ? ? can the NZ Herald name one, just one, law that gives non-maori extra privileges or handouts or favours that are denied to maori on the grounds of race? Just one? ? ?! Because there are hundreds of laws and regulations giving part maori race based privileges over non-maori. Hundreds. So how does one apply "severely disadvantaged" to a race festooned in racist privileges???
