HISTORY MADE AT COUNCIL MEETINGA milestone meeting of Masterton District Council broke new ground yesterday when two iwi representatives took their place at the council table. Mihirangi Hollings and Ra Smith were welcomed to a full meeting of the council three months after councillors voted in favour of appointing representatives of both Rangitane o Wairarapa and Kahungunu ki Wairarapa. Both will have full speaking and voting rights when attending Policy and Finance and Audit and Risk committee meetings, but will be restricted to speaking rights only at full council meetings. Mayor Lyn Patterson said the occasion was a “very proud day for me”. She said she was also proud of her councillors who had voted back in May to “take a step forward into the future”. .... times-age.co.nz/history-made-council-meeting/

Now watch as all the other councils in NZ fall over themselves so as not to be outdone and make racist appointments the length of the country. These left wing echo chambers have no right to make undemocratic race based appointments and I hope someone with a law background takes it to court. RIP democracy.
