MĀORI INCREASINGLY OVER-REPRESENTED IN ROAD-CRASH DEATHS AND INJURYMāori are over-represented in death and serious injuries as a result of road crashes and a new report from the Transport Agency suggests the rate is increasing. From 2013 to 2017 the average rate of death or serious injury 100,000 population for all Māori men was 87 - much higher than the average rate of 61.5 for all men. For all Māori women the rate was 40.5 which was much higher than the average rate of 29 for all women.
