Do you have time to send in an urgent submission? I (Dr Muriel Newman of NZCPR) have just been sent a copy of the 'Draft Code of Professional Responsibility and Standards for the Teaching Profession'. The summary at the end states the primary goal: “Demonstrate commitment to tangata whenuatanga and bicultural partnership and practice in Aotearoa New Zealand”. Unfortunately I have only just been made aware of it and submissions close today. You can send submissions by email to: feedback@educationcouncil.org.nz – the website details can be found here: educationcouncil.org.nz/content/have-your-say But what do you make of it all – is it as bad as I think?

If anyone else is interested in submitting, I would suggest that at this late stage sending in a brief stand-alone message using the email option they have provided feedback@educationcouncil.org.nz IS THE BEST OPTION.
Submissions are a numbers game, so if you can persuade others to send in brief submissions opposed to the draft code, you would be doing the country a great service!
