SIGNAGE HELPS RAISE MAORI PROFILE AT SCHOOLPakuranga College has seen new signage in te reo Maori being put up around the campus. It's the idea of students of the school's Whanau Tutor, which is made up of like-minded Maori students interested in learning about Maori views and their individual identities. The project started earlier this year and so far they've named in the Maori language, the library, tuck shop, food technology room, student centre, careers room, their Waiora House, and sports office...... www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/local-news/eastern-courier/96145281/signage-helps-raise-maori-profile-at-school

"Maori views"....kill and eat your enemies, wipe out as many bird species as you can, embrace slavery, cannibalism, murder, but most importantly of all, reserve the right to rewrite history as you see fit and airbrush out all the embarrassing bits. Typical. Because they want to learn maori, they have to inflict it on all those who couldn't give a toss. I'd love to see a study in ten years on those that did maori and those that didn't. Unemployed WINZ clients v those doing well in the real world.
