MEDICINAL CANNABIS HUI: MĀORI SEEKING LICENCES CRITICISE HIGH FEESThe stigma around cannabis and the high licensing costs are barriers to getting whānau, hapū and iwi into the industry, say Māori applying for medicinal cannabis licenses. A cultivation license is upwards of $8000 - which does not include the cost of setting up the operation "When we were listening to the lady talk about just setting up your facility, already there's $100,000 cost involved so for Māori that's already a hinderance and how can we get over the transferring of those sorts of fees. "I guess if we're to look at it from an iwi point of view, they would have that type of money, they're in that space coming through settlements.".... www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/411059/medicinal-cannabis-hui-maori-seeking-licences-criticise-high-fees

What a surprise....maori wanting to get into cannabis growing. Another example of Cultural appropriation BTW (!), but more importantly, if the maori mafia, oops, sorry....I mean Iwi, were genuinely interested (which of course, they are NOT) in getting maori off the couch and out of prisons, they would want nothing to do with cannabis (which incidentally has THC levels 20+ times higher than it was in the 80's). I wonder how much product will disappear before stocktake?! We all know this is the same as letting an extremely fat person with not one, but 32 sweet teeth, no self discipline and an ability to blame "big bones" as their problem, being put in charge of a sweet shop. You only need to fly over Matakana Island off Tauranga to see all those hidden plantations of cannabis that the NZ Police are too cowardly scared to look for. Maori are experts at growing the stuff illegally and are responsible for a lot of misery in NZ for bot non-maori and part-maori.
