TREATY SETTLEMENTS NOW AT $4.3 BILLION (31 Dec 2019)The financial redress of the 79 settlements detailed below were compiled from details on the Office of Treaty Settlements website and include claimant group, date of settlement, and dollar value which totalled $4.3-billion to December 31, 2019. That website publishes a quarterly report that lists all settlements to date without publishing the financial redress of each settlement. That conceals the total amount paid in financial redress. With financial redress (cash and/or property), and rights of first refusal on the purchase of properties within the claim area, each settlement includes recognition of tribal interests over rivers, mountains, lakes, and areas of land, relationship protocols with government departments, and co-governance arrangements with local authorities. These arrangements give a scale of influence to a handful of family groups and individuals around New Zealand that is not available to anyone without Maori ancestry....... www.hobsonspledge.nz/unintended_consequences_of_treaty_settlements OTHER FUNDING FOR MAORI IS REPEATED EVERY YEAR and is at least $1.16-billion, and is on top of other funding distributed through Health, Housing, Social Development, and Education..... sites.google.com/site/treaty4dummies/home/race-based-funding-cost .
