AUCKLAND DHB DEBATES PRIORITISING MĀORI AND PACIFIC PATIENTS FOR ELECTIVE SURGERIESAuckland DHB members have debated prioritising Māori and Pacific patients for some elective surgeries after chairman Pat Snedden said disruption from Covid-19 represents a "Big Bang" opportunity to reset an unfair health system. "Our current system privileges some groups already. Māori and Pasifika are not in that group usually. It is important to be explicit about this.
