A REORIENTATION FOR MAORI MEDIA IS IN THE OFFING IN RESPONSE (HAS THE GOVT ONLY JUST NOTICED?) TO BIG CHANGES IN THE INDUSTRYMore money for Maori media – taxpayers’ money, that is – was portended in one of several press releases from the Beehive yesterday while the latest spending from the Provincial Growth Fund – for projects in Waikato and the Coromandel – was announced by New Zealand First leader and deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters. New training and employment programmes signal the spending of even more money. One of these is a training programme to help the kiwifruit industry provide employment opportunities. The other was described as a “a holistic employment programme”, intended to help up to 60 at-risk young people in the Bay of Plenty into employment. The trainees will receive intensive training “and extended pastoral support”, thanks to a $407,400 investment for the Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust’s ‘Imagine, Believe, Achieve (Moemoea, Kimihia, Taea)’ employment training programme. The money comes from the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment’s He Poutama Rangatahi fund...... pointofordernz.wordpress.com/2020/06/10/a-reorientation-for-maori-media-is-in-the-offing-in-response-has-the-govt-only-just-noticed-to-big-changes-in-the-industry/
