BE AFRAID - BE VERY AFRAID!
B P writes > There never was any country called “Aotearoa”.
Nothing like repeated propaganda to promote this nonsense.
There is but one way to effect the change - a referendum!
One has to wonder at the present government cabal’s ‘agenda’, or are they yielding to political blackmail? I find it hard to believe that ALL the Labour Parliamentarians support this nonsense - maybe just terrified of being ‘cancelled’!
As for the so-called “Greens”, who knows? They are too busy jetting off to utterly ridiculous conferences.
Not only is there this move to rename New Zealand to a name that never was but they want to rename ‘European’ cities to ‘Maori’ names.
Let’s look for an example at Christchurch. An English conceived and built city in what was to early Maori an uninhabitable swamp. Chief Tautahi (Pa on Banks Peninsula) had a small settlement on the Avon where the tribe came to fish and eel. Now the woke brigade believe that the modern City should be called Otautahi (Tautahi’s place) and the great unwashed just trot along with this nonsense.
Once again no one dares to question for fear of being ‘cancelled’.
It is time to stand up and challenge this nonsense.
The TOW provided for us all to be treated the same under the Sovereign and law; this present government and their ‘fellow travellers’ are hell bent on the destruction of the TOW whilst pretending to implement the Treaty’s (non existent) ‘principles’; promoting racial segregation and a ‘partnership’ between Maori and the Crown which was never either possible nor contemplated.
One has to wonder why there is no reference to such enlightened individuals as Waka Nene (an original Ngapuhi signatory to the TOW) and Apirana Ngata, a Maori academic, lawyer and Member of Parliament, who clearly understood the Treaty.
This ‘government is dragging us into very dangerous and unchartered ‘waters’. Be afraid - be very afraid!
