MAORI KNOWLEDGE / SCIENCE
G S writes > We now live in the 21st century and any "knowledge" which the Maori claim to have is related to the 12 century.
Maori supposedly arrived in 1300AD but they saw no social, technical or engineering advancement in 900 years.
They arrived as stone-age people and when early Europeans arrived they were still stone-age people - they never had a bow and arrow or a written language, despite iron sands, gold and copper they had no knowledge of metallurgy, they never had a wheel , there doesn't seem to be any evidence of ceramics or pottery despite clays and firing being available.
Did they even have boiled water? They had nothing to store water in so every time they wanted a drink they would have to go down to the river.
They would have eventually found edible plants but how many died or had gut aches in the process. Any knowledge they may have had is irrelevant in today's society.
