Durie called in to shape Auckland data Auckland’s Independent Maori Statutory Board has turned to the social scientist behind the creation of the Whanau Ora policy to help guide its new approach to policy making. Massey university Emeritus Professor Sir Mason Durie will lead a panel of eight experts who will identify sources of data the board can use when it advocates on issues that affect Maori. It will collaborate Statistics New Zealand, Auckland Council’s research unit and other partners. Sir Mason Durie says it will advise on the best way to capture the voice of Maori in Tamaki Makaurau and formulate data in a way that will help drive advice and advocacy….. www.waateanews.com/waateanews/x_story_id/MTMwMDY=/Durie%20called%20in%20to%20shape%20Auckland%20data
