WELLINGTON PHOENIX EMBRACE SPIRIT OF THE TANIWHA IN NEW LOGOThe club's new logo, unveiled in Wellington on Thursday morning, includes the Māori inscription 'E Rere Te Keo' and is a representation of the Phoenix-like spirit of the taniwha. The central concepts are mana (respect); kaha (strength); whanau and iwi (family and tribe). These central concepts are important as the Phoenix honour the past, acknowledge the present and create their future. The inclusion of Māori culture is a start to celebrating the diverse cultures associated with the Phoenix, the club said.... www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/a-league/95630005/wellington-phoenix-unveil-new-logo

I used to go to watch the Nix play but gave up last season when they decided maori were worthy of a special football scholarship. So, I dropped them as I do not wish to be associated with a franchise that supports race based privilege. Imagine if the Warriors had a scholarship for white players only. Ridiculous. Now they are becoming more maorified as they get hijacked by PC BS and a load of make-it-up-as-you-go maori nonsense.
