CHESTER BORROWSAndy Oakley writes > Chester’s article is headed “I wouldn’t cross the street to hear Don Brash’s views” which is just a statement. In his article he doesn’t add any information as to why he doesn’t want to hear Don Brash’s views. He state’s that Don Brash is racially divisive, but donesn’t actually provide any evidence of how he is. He states that everything he says is anti-Maori, again that is just a statement and a rather ridiculous one, surely even he doesn’t really believe that. Chester is also incorrect to say that under John Key polling continued to rise. National finished the 2005 election behind Labour 39.1 % versus Labours 41.1%. MMP allowed them to form a government relying on other parties support. He states that Don Brash’s views are almost all the polar opposite to how he thinks. At least this is something we can analyse. The main point of view Don Brash is known for is that; All New Zealanders should be equal before the law, irrespective of who their ancestors are. Which according to Chester means that Chester Burrows thinks that; All New Zealanders should NOT be equal before the law, legislation should favour people of certain races. Don Brash is a spokesperson for a lobby group, the worry I have is that it is Chester Burrows that is racially divisive and it is him that has been selected to lead an advisory group to reform the New Zealand criminal justice system. www.nzherald.co.nz/index.cfm?objectid=12104117&ref=twitter
