THERE IS NO GOING BACK
B S writes > Bye Culture? What is it? Apartheid. That is it’s true name. Two cultures can not live differently along side each other. Take the Muslim culture for instance they group together then make false borders of no go zones.
Now we have an entitled group of radicals claiming sole ownership of a beach. Shooting at people for crossing their imaginary border.
A country’s culture is a mix of all cultures. It is developed over years. A guy says koa and his mate says cheers back. Then you look up and see it’s the Maori fellow that said cheers.
This is life we take on a bit of each other and grow closer.
There is no partnership in the treaty that is fraud. We are one nation of people.
Nobody has forced modern society on Natives they have accepted it as a better way of living.
We have interbreed and mixed for years now. There is no going back.
Even with global warming I doubt there is a Maori alive that could live more than a week in the NZ bush in traditional dress. Please prove me wrong if you wish.
This rant is not to wind up radicals. It probably will though.
It is my view that although the past had issues. There is no difference today between Maori and others in this land and as such they need to honour the treaty and become New Zealand citizens like the rest of us.
One vote each in a general non race based system.
Maori culture will not die if Maori don’t want it to but if a culture forces itself it will face a push back. The colonial culture was forced by well meaning chiefs it is facing that push back now. Time and understanding is the key give a little get a little.
