INCREDIBLE TABOO
S W writes > It is viewed as “Authentically Maori“ to constantly point the finger at white people for any given problem or statistical discrepancy in the Maori community, relative to non-Maori, whether or not the evidence bears that out.
Because it is viewed as Authentically Maori there is this incredible taboo on anyone who thinks differently, for example Alan Duff, yet you will never hear a Maori person say this out loud. Yet it is obviously right.
This pathological political entrenchment to the point of delusion, this denialism and wilful ignorance is why these subjects are so hard to talk about. This is why even trying to talk about them gets you smeared as a racist Maori basher.
