MAORI DESCENDANTS STILL BENEFICIARIES WITH SAME GRIEVANCE MENTALITY
D J writes > Have just come back from Gisborne and the 150th Anniversary service for the 70 victims of the Matawhero Massacre by TeKooti on Nov 9th 1868. (somewhat overshadowed by the armistice anniversary)
The mealie mouthed platitudes of the Maoris and their ilk stood in stark contrast to the settler families who lost members on that night of slaughter.
My affront was made raw anew when TeKootis descendants received 1 million dollars of MY MONEY through the Waitangi Tribunal because they had been vilified as a result of the actions of TeKooti....the victims families of course got nothing.
I was fascinated to see, that these families (Biggs Wilson, Cadle) 150 years later, still keep alive the memories of those who were murdered. The settler families are now all lawyers, Farmers teachers, the Maori descendants are still beneficiaries...and still have the same grievance mentality that TeKooti had.
