MAORI ACTIVIST TOKENISM IS ENTIRELY UNNECESSARY
R K writes > So there I was in the Ranui Big Fresh store this morning and guess what... yes, all the aisle signage to indicate what is in the aisle, also has everything in Maori, in the same font as the English.
This disturbing nod to woke Maori activist tokenism is entirely unnecessary as 99% of their clients will never understand a word of it.
We don't need to be interpreting wordy signage just to do our grocery shopping.
Given the pricing in the store, they really needed that signage money to go towards their pricing, which was shockingly expensive IMHO.
I didn't just bitch about it, I wrote to the store owner and vented in the most direct way possible, and advised him/her I wont be shopping there again, and now await a few nights in the cells or cleaning out the local marae latrines. Bring it on..!
But I do feel customer feedback is important and we should all be doing just that with other suppliers going down the same path, like Mobil and Vodafone. If we all had a go at them and stopped doing business with them, they will be the losers and wake up, not us.
See you in the cells then.
