DAME NAIDA GLAVISH - NICE LADY OR WARMONGER? - Julian Batchelor
There were comments made by some that it’s people like Dame Naida Glavish who would spark a civil war.
Everything about her drips of war - her words, her expressions, her tone, especially her ability to mobilise the innocent, the naive, the disaffected, the social misfits, and the gullible. Add in her ‘five point’ activist CV, and you have one dangerous woman.
Commenting on this, one of our contributors, Don McKenzie of Auckland, wrote an interesting piece about Dargaville and its history which I want to relay to you here. He writes....
-------------------------------------------------
“From Glavish we hear:
“It’s our land”
“The land was stolen”
“Colonialism”
“Racism!”
People like her indoctrinate younger impressionable people, lacking life experience and certainly lacking history.
No amount of debate or rational thinking will change their outlook on life.
The next step towards civil war in NZ could be isolated incidents of destruction and serious vandalism which could be quite indiscriminate.
The Dargaville district has over the last 20-odd years seen the burning down of Alan Titford’s house in Aranga by the Ngati Raroa.
Then there was the burning down of a shed and a cowshed belonging to the late Noel Hilliam because he stood up to Maori who argued that they were the “first people.” Noel said they were not indiginous.
Then there was the Maori chap Benjamin Nathan who smashed up the America’s Cup more than 20 years ago. He is now selling the shirt he wore during the attack on Trade Me. He was then 28. He walked into Auckland’s Royal Yacht Squadron on March 14, 1997 and took to the sailing trophy with a sledgehammer, whilst chanting in Maori.
Nathan was a resident of Mamaranui just North of Dargaville.
The wick is smoldering.
Radical Maori and non radical Maori are let down by the current socalled leaders, especially when compared to the likes of Sir Apirana Ngata.
We are all let down by our current leaders in parliament who have let matters arrive at this current sorry state.
We have let ourselves down by not protesting earlier at the “separatism” we
see gathering speed.
The radical Maori attitude of “my way or the highway” amounts to bullying of the first order.
Must be met with stiffness, firmness and great resolve. The sooner the better.”....
