MONEY WILL NOT FIX MAORI CRIME PROBLEM
K H writes > The interesting thing, here, is that for decades we have been told, as European New Zealanders, that Maori have a stronger sense of family specifically, and community, generally, than the balance of non Maori New Zealanders.
And, for decades we have seen crime rising. Maori are disproportionately represented in the crime statistics.
This, apparently, is not the fault of a lack of family or community support, but the result of colonisation, the fault of the education system, the fault of policing, the fault of the court system, the fault of the economic system.
In other words, everything that European New Zealand brings to the table and nothing that Maori can offer.
Common sense and collective experiences, both anecdotally or empirically, dictates otherwise.
How about being honest for once and tell the truth?
Place the blame where it should be placed and that is with the family. Stop claiming that money will fix the problems. It never has and it never will.
