MĀORI WARD CONSIDERED FOR HUTT CITYDoes Hutt City need a Māori ward? The council is reviewing representation with a panel, headed by former MP Paul Swain, tasked with making a recommendation on the tricky issue. Although there are four Māori voices on the council – Tui Lewis, Naomi Shaw, Keri Brown and Gabriel Tupou – Māori traditionally struggle to get a seat at the table. In the 2018 Census, there were 19,260 Māori in a population of 104,352. www.thepost.co.nz/a/nz-news/350061173/maori-ward-considered-hutt-city
