TREATY BASED CONSTITUTION
M D writes > The Treaty does not give shared power between the state and Maori. It gives sovereign authority to make the law to the Crown and citizenship to Maori and everyone else
We do not need a written constitution We have adequate protection for minorities in legislation the Bill of Rights and other legislation
What you [Claire Charters] want is to preserve you nonsense views of the Treaty to be put into higher law. The answer is no Maori are a race and one that is disappearing fast We do not want to preserve racist privilege
We need David Seymour’s bill to get of the so called principles of the Treaty. Partnership is not part of the Treaty. The British Crown would never have agreed to share power with 500 hapu chiefs many of whom would be illiterate
No written constitution means the government can govern. If the government goes too far the majority will get rid of it as did the last government. We do not want anti democratic policies of Labour enshrined in a constitution. Thats what you [Claire Charters] want We don’t !
