THE EXPENSIVE NEW HOBBY LANGUAGE
C T writes > 13.5% of whatever funding is available for radio and tv its easy to work out ! Its not rocket science.
And we know there is only a very small minority that can speak and or understand their new hobby language.
"The proportion of Māori able to hold an everyday conversation in the Māori language decreased 3.7 percentage points between 1996 and 2013. Between 1996 and 2013, the proportion of the Māori population able to converse in Māori decreased from 25.0 percent to 21.3.
So maori are not interested in keeping their language alive, Unless of course its at the expense of the New Zealand taxpayer then its really really important and really really expensive............
