WE NEED A LEADER – Paul Rea
I watched a video the other night called “Darkest Hour”. A thrilling and inspiring true story beginning at the precipice of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill faced one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation. As the unstoppable Nazi forces rolled across Western Europe and the threat of invasion was imminent, and with an unprepared public, a sceptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill had to withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history.
History tells us that Churchill, the people of Great Britain and their allies were successful in defeating Nazi Germany, but this would not have happened if one-man, Winston Churchill had not taken a stand and showed true leadership.
Fast forward to current day New Zealand and we find ourselves not on the brink of war but on the brink of the destruction of our way of life by a coalition government hellbent on destroying this Nation.
Growing National debt, failed policies, homeless New Zealanders forced to live on the streets, unchecked immigration, race-based policies passed to empower a small portion of our population these are just a few of the things destroying this country. The main thing lacking is leadership in our current political system.
We have successive governments unaccountable for their actions, MP’s many of who are not qualified to be in parliament let alone serve as Ministers of the Crown. Time and time again these people have been caught out lying, bullying and feathering their own nests but nothing is ever done about it other than a slap on the wrist by our weak PM proving the point New Zealand is sadly lacking a strong decisive leader.
Winston Churchill stood up against all odds and despite his own party plotting against him he went to the public to gain their support and showed Britain and the rest of the world what true leadership really was.
With 2020 an election year where will we find a new leader for New Zealand? We certainly do not have any candidates in our current bunch of politicians nor in my opinion is ex CEO of Air New Zealand Christopher Luxon who is being touted as the next leader of the National Party. New Zealand needs to head in a new direction one that makes the government accountable to us the public of this country for their actions.
Time and time again we have voted for candidates who have promised us the earth but when elected have done nothing - that time has passed. We need qualified people in government, not students, debt collectors, real estate agents, tree huggers etc. We need people with business acumen used to making decisions and prepared to fall on their sword if they make the wrong ones.
Most of all we need a Churchill for New Zealand, a person with integrity not frightened to call it as it is and able to make decisions for the benefit of all New Zealanders not just a few. A leader who has the fortitude to stand up to the dissenters and do what is right for the country and to steer us away from the current path of destruction we are on.
Is there such a person out there I sincerely hope so, one who will stand firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of New Zealand because I believe the time is fast running out for this country and the lifestyle as we currently know it.
MMP has proven to be a disaster with unelected parties holding the balance of power and ability to form governments with several other minor parties but with conditions. Why should we be held to ransom by a system that is only used in 8 other countries in the world most of which are 3rd world countries?
There are referendums planned to coincide with next years elections perhaps MMP should be on the list allowing the public to decide if we keep it or not.
Currently, New Zealand should only be for New Zealanders no one else, it is time for the public voice to be heard and listened too. NO to more immigration, NO to more refugees and NO to more payouts for so-called injustices that happened 200 years ago. Enough is enough the time for change is now, let’s look after all our own people first and provide them with housing, healthcare and education instead of compounding the current situation by allowing unchecked immigration to put a strain on the infrastructure of this country.
We are supposed to be “one people” the time has arrived to move forward as a united people, not one divided by race.
