APARTHEID - IS WHAT IT IS
G B writes > what we have in NZ. A political system that that allowes and gives favouritism and bias to a select people over others.
This can’t be disputed in NZ, but the reply always comes back along the lines of " but they were oppressed previously, colonization, lost land, over the to criminal stats or welfare state's, or homeless, or violence.
These things are often used as an excuse or justification for the political apartheid system we have. To agree with or not is irrelevant. Who it helps is irrelevant. It is what it is, apartheid.
Another favourite modern term that runs hand in hand with our apartheid system is affirmative action, or raced based advantages as it should be called. Both of these, when they give precedence or advantage to one person in NZ based on their race instead of their need, "what we have in NZ " is racist, with I believe has no justification at all.
