IWI HEALTH BOARD CONCERNED MANAGEMENT SHAKEUP WILL 'MARGINALISE' MAORI HEALTHExpanding a key Maori health role to represent refugees and transient vineyard workers will not marginalise Maori health, the region's health boss says. The Maori health and whanau ora role at the health board was expanded to include other vulnerable groups as part of a major management shakeup at the end of April. Iwi Health Board chair Dawn McConnell said the Maori governance group and Maori health organisation Te Piki Oranga had reservations about changes to the role. "The Iwi Health Board shares the concerns raised around the expansion of the general manager Maori role and is particularly concerned that Maori health does not become marginalised."…. www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/81612571/Iwi-Health-Board-concerned-management-shakeup-will-marginalise-Maori-health
